Two new frescos further enrich the Sentier Métropolitain project
A new artistic milestone was achieved by the GrandAngoulême’s HUB-IN a few days ago. Two frescoes by the local artists Dupin & Duclos have been unveiled on the walls of Brie and Linars, two municipalities that are part of GrandAngoulême’s metropolitan area.
The two illustrators managed to grasp the essence of the towns and transform ordinary places into cartoon-like works of art, a comic-book universe where the public can jump in and find elements of the local history, legends and anecdotes.
It was indeed during workshops attended by pupils, inhabitants and elected representatives in both Linars and Brie, that the two artists listened to people’s stories, learned more about the territory’s uniqueness, and thus found inspiration for the project.
Along with the enthusiastic residents, the President of the GrandAngoulême conurbation Xavier Bonnefont, the vice-President in charge of culture and international cooperation, the mayors and elected representatives of both towns participated in the inauguration.
These frescoes are part of the Sentier Métropolitain de GrandAngoulême, a new cultural project developed within the framework of HUB-IN that includes over thirty works of art so far.
The grand opening of the Sentier métropolitain will take place in Angoulême on 17-18 May 2025. Don’t miss it!
