The HUB-IN area in Utrecht is located in the old industrial part of the city: the “Werkspoorkwartier”. The area hosts old factory buildings for steel production, particularly for trains and bridge constructions. The industry left this area between 1970s-2000a and since then it was used by SMEs, to host office buildings and for leisure activities. The Municipality wants to make the Werkspoorkwartier a hub for circular and creative industries. The Machinery, an old industrial building located there will be refurbished and become a centre for creative media and film.
