Do you want to know how to transform historic urban areas into vibrant, future-proof places?
Our pilot cities are proving that through an effective methodology and clear actions historic urban areas, too often neglected and abandoned, can become vibrant destinations, home to a range of innovative and creative businesses.
Experts from cities and technical partners are now willing to share their experiences, lessons learned and tools to support you in the sustainable transformation of your city’s historic urban area.

By enrolling, you will learn more about strategic topics such as:

- Setting up a georeferenced framework to assess the potential of a historic urban area

Enjoy a variety of learning opportunities
We offer a comprehensive, free and open-access learning programme in an inclusive and collaborative environment. In addition to the e-learning platform hosted by the Local Transitions Learning Centre, the holistic HUB-IN Academy concept consists of a variety of learning methods hosted also on this website. The overall offer includes:
- Workshops
- Toolkit
- Live webinars
- E-learning modules
- Podcasts
- Guidelines and publications
The HUB-IN partners will offer video lessons to explain the conceptual framework and what happened on the ground in a series of 3-hour specialised courses and 20-minute microlearning opportunities.
This engaging offer includes hands-on tools, methods and templates, interactive exercises to stimulate active learning, self-assessment quizzes, and a final certificate to reward the completion of a course.
The first learning programme was made available in May 2023, and courses are continuously added and delivered from Spring to Autumn 2024.
Become an urban innovator!
In addition to joining the Academy, you have also the opportunity to become an early joiner follower city by joining the HUB-IN Alliance. By doing so, you will be part of a network of innovators that will support and inspire you. Study visits in the eight HUB-INs are foreseen to let you experience in person what the regeneration of a historic urban area concretely means.
